2026 is the first Horse year since 2014, so children born in 2014 have their first own sign year (本命年) as they turn 12. In Chinese tradition it is a year for a little extra care, and many families give the child something red to wear.
The 2014 Horse year began on Jan 31, 2014 and lasted until Feb 18, 2015, so a baby born in early February 2015 is a Wood Horse as well.
Born in January or Early February 2014?
The Chinese year does not start on January 1. Lunar New Year 2014 was on Friday, Jan 31, 2014, so births before that date belong to the year before.

|---|---|---|
| Jan 1 to Jan 30, 2014 | Water Snake | 癸巳 |
